Freestyle Watches | Slater Trout

Slater Trout, one of stand up paddling’s young stars, is a proven and dedicated athlete. Just out of high school, Slater is now looking forward to being singularly focused on training, traveling and competing both in racing and waves. Born in Florida and moving to Hawaii in the sixth grade, Slater began his stand up paddling career at age 11 and won his first SUP wave contest (the first junior SUP wave event ever held) at 12. Soon after, his racing career took off as well. Since then he has been a podium finisher at the last six Battle of the Paddles, including a second place finish in 2009 at age 14 behind Australia’s Jamie Mitchell. He loves to train for racing but waves are way more fun and trips to places like Indo, Australia and Taiwan have been a highlight for Slater. Another highlight is all the amazing people he has gotten to know along the way. LIfe beyond SUP for Slater includes a passion for photography, travel and music. His favorite Freestyle watches (like the Mariner and Predator) keep him on pace during training paddles and in wave contest heats. Join us as we welcome Slate Trout to the Freestyle Athlete Ambassador Team!
